A 19 year old kid shot dead over mayweather vs cotto arguments

According to The Denver Post, Allen Robinson faces charges of first degree murder for the death of Francisco Suarez, who was shot multiple times early Sunday morning after the Mayweather vs. Cotto fight. To clarify though, the shooting was nowhere near the MGM Grand; it took place in Arizona while the man was arrested in Colorado.

According to the report, Allen Robinson and another man, Robert Brown, went to a Circle K to buy some alcohol. The clerk turned them away and refused to sell them alcohol because he thought they were too drunk.

Robinson and Brown then approached Suarez and a 19-year-old friend and asked the underage men if they could buy them some alcohol. They started talking and their conversation eventually led to the Mayweather vs. Cotto fight that happened just hours earlier.

According to CBS5 in Phoenix, Suarez told Robinson that he wasn’t a Mayweather fan and it upset Robinson. As the both parties left the store in their vehicles, Robinson fired shots off at Suarez’s car a short distance from the Circle K store, killing him.

Brown turned himself into authorities on Monday with Robinson being arrested in Colorado the next day.

At the time of his arrest, Robinson was traveling with three other people, a woman and two children aged 11 and 3.

The woman, Susan Gonzalez, is currently being held without bond in the Garfield County Jail for conspiracy charges. This is most likely due to her not turning Robinson in with knowledge of his murder.

[Confirmed] Marcos Maidana to Join the Robert Garcia Gym

WBA junior welterweight champion Marcos Maidana, reeling from a loss at the hands of Devon Alexander, has announced a serious shakeup within his camp, Maidana’s management team have indicated that the titlist will now be trained by Oxnard’s Robert Garcia.

Garcia, whose stable of fighters continues to grow with impressive names, is, also, excited about the addition of the Argentine, “It’s a honor for me to know that Maidana is interested in training with me. He has given the fans great fights so far. We are gonna to work with him in my gym now and I expect good things for him.” stated Garcia.

Speaking from his native Argentina, where he has been resting, Maidana appears enthused by the decision, “This is a great move for my career so I’m excited about it,” stated Maidana. “By joining a trainer like Robert and his team I’ll be able to make all the necessary adjustments that are required for me to go to the next level.”

Although nothing has been confirmed, Maidana appears content with remaining at 140 and defending his title, saying that there are plenty of attractive options within the division.

[Official Video] Mayweather vs Cotto – Face Off

Here we go. The Official Full Length video of the Face Off of Mayweather vs Cotto. Both seem overly Respectful to each other, Was not the norm for a typical Mayweather Face off. Watch and Rate and give us your thoughts on the Face Off.

[Video Trailer] Mayweather vs. Cotto – Face Off

Floyd Mayweather Jr will face Miguel Cotto on May 5, live on HBO pay-per-view from Las Vegas, but before that, we’re getting damn close to time for the major hype to set in. Part of that will be the debut of the two in the HBO Face Off hot seats, which will premiere on April 3 at 8:45 p.m. EDT.

The “24/7″ series will debut on April 14, originally meant to be paired with the highly-anticipated Brandon Rios vs Yuriorkis Gamboa fight, but now going up against, as it turns out, an HBO-distributed but Top Rank-produced PPV featuring Rios and Juan Manuel Marquez in action.

Is anyone expecting much from the “Face Off” or the “24/7,” really? Mayweather seems to genuinely respect Miguel Cotto so far — no trash talk whatsoever, and even Roger Mayweather can’t get into much more than, “Cotto’s not good enough for Floyd,” which isn’t exactly a stinging statement or anything. Cotto seems to have the same respect for Mayweather.

Who knows? Maybe Cotto’s ultra-calm demeanor and icy insistence that he’s going to win will bug Floyd, or at least “bug” him enough to drag out some kind of silly response. I admit I have low expectations for the hype, but I like the fight. I can’t see Miguel winning, but if anyone has earned the right to try right now, it’s Miguel Cotto.

Erik Morales Lost His Belt On The Scales!

Erik Morales was over the limit for Saturday’s showdown with Danny Garcia (22-0, 14KOs), which headlines an HBO-televised doubleheader (10PM ET/PT) from Reliant Arena in Houston. As the scales read 142 lb. for what was supposed to be a 140 lb. title defense, Morales (52-7, 36KO) showed no desire to sweat off the remaining two pounds and opted to vacate the title. He is also forced to part with $50,000 of his purse, which will now to go to Garcia, who checked in at a chiseled 139.5 lb. for a bout that marks his first on HBO and for a title.
